Bolton College: Special Needs Coordinator in Early Years Settings NCFE CACHE Award Level 3 | 29th February 2024 | 12 Week Course (3 Hours PW) | 6:00pm - 9:00pm

The Early Years Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) qualification is for a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner or Early Years Teaching Assistant in reception, or a private, voluntary or independent setting. Learning takes place at Bolton College over a 12 week duration. You'll explore the roles and responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator; learn more about the SEND Code of Practice; become familiar with the strategies and techniques for supporting children and families and more. DfE Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP): Cohort 4 - Recruiting Now

Registration is made directly with EYPDP - APPLY FOR APRIL AND COMPLETE DECEMBER 2024 EYPDP, (evidence based CPD training, funded by the DfE) are now recruiting early years settings and Childminders for Cohort 4. Begin training in April 2024. Forming part of the government’s early years education recovery package, this programme provides evidence-informed CPD to practitioners to support the development of 2-4 year olds.

As part of our shared ambition to 'narrow the gap' in Bolton, focusing on the most vulnerable children, we are working with providers of early education places to re-establish termly 2 year old networks. These will be held in schools and settings across Bolton and will be a forum for colleagues to focus on pedagogy and practice and discuss things specific to practitioners working with this age group.

As part of the Get Bolton Reading Campaign, Bolton Start Well are hosting this one-day reading conference for early years leaders, managers, room leaders and childminders in Bolton. Join us for an opportunity to explore the value of reading and how to become a confident and inspiring storyteller through music, and multi-sensory activities. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to share and inspire colleagues and families.  The event will feature various local partners and practitioners from Bolton and the Northwest, offering invaluable insights and tips on engaging children in reading.  The showcase will include guest speakers with expertise in Early Years Literacy.

Raising Early Achievement in Literacy - Making it REAL in Bolton | 2 Day Training and Network Sessions

Making it REAL is an evidence-based approach to improve outcomes for young children based on the original REAL study of Cathy Nutbrown and Peter Hannon at the University of Sheffield. Government Funded Training: Early Years Childminder Mentor Programme | Begins Summer 2024

This is a fully funded programme of mentoring support for Childminders as individuals or as a group. If suitable/available, face to face meetings can be organised, with training mainly being delivered online. Support will be tailored to your needs for one term and may cover children with EAL or SEND, building strong relations with families or planning an effective curriculum.
