Course Description

This annual face to face workshop is part of the Communication & Language Training plan for 2025-26. It is addition to the termly Start Well Early Years and Childcare Briefing which includes termly Communication and Language Updates and News.

The workshop is an opportunity for Communication Champions to come together, shape the Communication and Language training offer and share experiences, challenges, solutions.

The workshop will have a focus on topics identified by you, during visits to your settings and schools. There will be,

  • Time to think about how you in your role as Communication Champion can improve C&L outcomes for children in your setting, school and service.
  • Time to share ideas, challenges, solutions and what works well
  • Q&A following the briefing

Venue: Harvey Family Hub, Shaw Street, Bolton BL3 6HU

Please note that the 6:30pm session has been timed to facilitate childminders although all providers are welcome to attend this session.

This is a FREE (fully funded) briefing for Early Years Practitioners in Bolton.

This workshop is aimed at all Communication Champions and Senior Leaders.

Commitments and Cancellations

In order to maintain best value, we need to run this course on a maximum occupancy basis. If your place is confirmed but you are unable to attend, please send an alternative representative or cancel your place in writing by e-mailing: StartWellBookings@bolton.gov.uk with a minimum of 24 hours' notice.

An administration fee of £25 per person will be charged for the non-attendance of any individual following an online or confirmed telephone booking. These fees will be waived if you send a replacement attendee from your setting to take up your place.
