Description

A blended learning course based around the WellComm Speech and Language Toolkit. The course comprises of a pre-recorded resource and activity to watch and undertake, followed by a one-hour digital workshop, accessed by Microsoft Teams.
This course is designed to develop practitioners’ skills and confidence in supporting children under 5 years who are at risk of developing speech, language and communication difficulties. The course uses interactive teaching methods and resources, practical activities and group discussion to engage learners. Please note: You will need access to a WellComm Toolkit during the session.
*The WellComm Toolkit resource pack will be made available to settings that do not already have a copy according to Bolton Start Well records. Details of how to arrange collection of a pack will be emailed upon booking your place.  You will need this pack when watching the pre-recorded session and during the online session.
 

How will this session help?

 
At the end of this course, we will be able to:
• Understand how to assess children working below their age related expectations;
• Know how to support children working below their age related expectations;
• Carry out appropriate interventions within a whole class or group environment, in small groups or on an individual basis;
• Accurately monitor children’s progress; and
• Make effective use of Early Years Pupil Premium and Pupil Premium Grant.
 

Who is this session for?

This workshop is aimed at all practitioners working with children aged 6 months to 6 years and their families.
