Course Description

This new face to face workshop is a key part of the Communication and Language Training for 2025-26. Everyone who works with 0-5 year old’s are invited to come along and find out why the Golden Rules are a key Bolton resource and how you can further embed the 5 Golden Rules for Communication into your own practice. During the training you will explore ways to share the Golden Rules with parents and you’ll take away ideas to try out back in your place of work.

This workshop will cover,

  • National and Local Speech, Language and Communication context
  • Why the Golden Rules are key Bolton resource ​
  • What do the 5 Golden Rules look like in action​
  • How can we share the 5 Golden Rules with parents​
  • Scenarios and take away practical ideas​
  • Take-away resources​
  • Identify next steps for yourself and your team

This training session has been co-designed in response to Bolton Early Years Nurseries and Schools asking for training to help support them embed the Golden Rules into every day practice. Start Well Quality and Outcomes, SEND, Early Years Communication and Language Development Service, Family Hub Practitioners, Bolton Schools, PVI’s and Public Health Nursing have written this training that we hope everyone will enjoy and find useful.

Venue: all session take place at Harvey Family Hub, Shaw Street, Bolton BL3 6HU

You only need to attend one of the sessions.

This is a FREE (fully funded) briefing for Early Years Practitioners in Bolton.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at anyone who works with children aged 0-5 and their families.

Commitments and Cancellations

In order to maintain best value, we need to run this course on a maximum occupancy basis. If your place is confirmed but you are unable to attend, please send an alternative representative or cancel your place in writing by e-mailing: StartWellBookings@bolton.gov.uk with a minimum of 24 hours' notice.

An administration fee of £25 per person will be charged for the non-attendance of any individual following an online or confirmed telephone booking. These fees will be waived if you send a replacement attendee from your setting to take up your place.
