Pre-School Matrix of Developmental Needs
The Pre School Matrix is used to determine a child's level of Special Educational Needs within the four areas of the SEND Code of Practice:
- Social, emotional and mental health
- Communication and interaction
- Physical and sensory
- Cognition and Learning.
The Pre School Matrix is used to support the panel in allocating the Inclusion Fund for children with Special Educational Needs.
Matrix Nursery 2 is for children in their preschool year (children who will start Reception Class in September 2024).
Matrix Nursery 1 is for children in their rising 3 year (children who will start Reception Class in September 2025).
Matrix Nursery 0 is for children who turn 2 within this school year (children who will start Reception Class in September 2026).
