Open to all Bolton settings who book and attend the Start Well Reading Conference on the 13th March 2024. Final competition submission date: 8th March.
Would you like to win some exciting prizes to support literacy in your setting? Enter the Get Bolton Reading competition to share your ideas and practice.
Competition 1 - What's your favourite Start Well Story?
Ask your children to identify their favourite Start Well Story from the 12 Start Well Stories by naming it and drawing a picture (a character or something related to the story). Then tell us why they chose that book. You can find more information about the Bolton Start Well Stories here: Bolton Start Well Stories.
We will celebrate and feature the winning setting in our news and learning and development pages.
PRIZE: Visit to your setting from an experienced Storyteller to plan a reading session with parents or to inspire your children.
Competition 2 - Share your tips / initiatives used in your setting to promote reading
We'd love to read about your ideas, tips and initiative for promoting early years reading in your setting. We plan to share these with the sector as part of the Get Bolton Reading campaign.
PRIZE: High Quality, Pre-loved Reading Shed (without content)
Competition 3 - Share how you promote reading with your parents in the home learning environment
Tell us how you work with families and children to promote reading in the Home Learning Environment. Do you have a success story to shout about?
We love to share these ideas, tips and successes as part of the Get Bolton Reading campaign.
PRIZE: We're going on a bear hunt wooden set.
How to enter
All entries to be emailed to StartWellBookings@bolton.gov.uk.
When submitting entries, please tell us the competition number(s), your name, contact details and setting name.
Competition entries must be submitted by 8th March 2024.

In addition
Everyone who is booked on the conference (and attends), will be entered into a prize draw and 12 lucky winners will win a Start Well Story/sack/activities to promote the stories.
