Dawn France is a Start Well Early Years and Childcare Adviser with a particular focus on early intervention, inclusion and SEND in the early years.
After specialising in Developmental Psychology during her first degree, Dawn qualified as a teacher in 1989. She has since worked as an advisory teacher, led a nursery school and children's centre, lectured at degree level in early years and initial teacher training, as well as running her own private nursery. Her current role is Early Years and Childcare Adviser for the Start Well Service in Bolton.
Dawn has led the development of a model of support for children with SEND across Bolton and works very closely with a range of partners to support the identification and assessment of children's needs, as well as working with providers to meet these needs. She also leads on the work with Start Well children's centres, to provide high quality learning experiences within centres.
