Department of Education

An opportunity for Childminders to hear about DfE ambitions for Childminders, including proposals. Help shape and manage the next steps.

Childminder Consultation Webinar

The Department for Education is inviting childminders to its Childminder Consultation Webinar.

This webinar will take place on Thursday 18th April, the event will start at 19:00pm (please aim to join 15 minutes before the start time) and finish at 20:00pm and will be held online via Teams in a webinar format.

This event is an opportunity for childminders to hear about DfE ambitions for childminders, including proposals in our childminder consultation. It is also an opportunity for the DfE to hear from you to help shape and manage their next steps.

The childminder consultation marks an important part of the DfE's plan to recruit and retain more childminders, recognising the important role they play in the childcare sector by providing high quality, flexible, entitlements and wraparound childcare. They know childminders face specific challenges and their consultation seeks to understand and address these issues.

The event agenda will include speakers from the DfE and a Q&A session with DfE officials working on childminder policy and the entitlements and wraparound programmes.

There are 200 places available for this event, which are being offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration will be capped once the 200 places have been filled.
