Description

As part of our shared ambition to narrow the gap in Bolton, focusing on the most vulnerable children, we are working with providers of early education places to re-establish termly 2 year old networks.

These will be held in schools and settings and will be a forum for colleagues to focus on pedagogy and practice and discuss things specific to practitioners working with this age group.

Working in partnership, we will be able to develop expertise in typical child development and accurate early identification of need, embedding the Bolton pathways and supporting the progress check at 2.

What will I learn?

These workshop sessions will have a different focus each term.

In the Summer term, we will:

  • Introduce different professionals and their services; local pathways, what is available for every child and linked tools used in Bolton.
  • Use local data and providers intelligence to consider current trend, patterns, concerns and priorities.
  • Look at the new 2 Year Old Progress Check material.
  • Take the opportunity to see practice in the host setting (circumstances permitting).

Please come prepared to share the context of 2 year olds in your setting. What are your needs and priorities for children, staff and parents?
