Home-Start Host: Antenatal and Parent-Infant Support

Parent-Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Team offer FREE confidential and non-judgemental support to families expecting a baby or with a child under 2 years old.

Parents and carers in Bolton expecting a baby or with a child under the age of 2-years-old can access free, confidential, and non-judgemental support from Home-Start Host. 

The service promotes awareness around the importance of early relationships and bonding. 

Trained volunteers offer weekly support, in the family home, proving information and the tools and skills to help families thrive. They can support with the following:

  • Mild to moderate mental health difficulties
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Multiple births/children
  • Experiencing any challenges which may impact the parent-infant relationship
  • Lone parenting
  • Bereavement or relationship problems
  • Struggling with the emotional and physical demands of having young children

The service also run weekly peer support groups, offering relaxed and friendly support and the opportunity to meet other parents who are pregnant or have little ones under the age of 2.
