A transition from nursery to reception event for EYFS Practitioners, Leaders, and Managers in Bolton Schools, Daycare and Childminder settings.
Strictly 2 places per setting
Description
This session brings together EYFS Practitioners, Leaders, and Managers from Bolton Schools, Daycare and Childminder settings to collaborate on creating smooth, supported transitions for every child and their family.
The early timing of this session (inline with the allocation of school places), provides the perfect opportunity for leaders and managers to plan, take action, and establish strong connections to support children as they prepare for their next steps.
What will I learn?
The focus will be on:
- Sharing general patterns, issues, and needs of families and children in your area.
- Discussing and sharing ideas to plan and continue effective transition activities.
- Establishing and communicating school readiness expectations or pledges to ensure all children are prepared for their transition to school.
- Taking clear actions back to colleagues to implement within your teams and settings.
- Exploring ways schools and settings can stay connected, especially during the early weeks and months, as children settle into school.
By participating, leaders and managers will not only gain practical insights and strategies but also strengthen relationships between schools and settings to ensure continuity of support throughout the school year.
Why attend?
Transition periods are crucial in ensuring children feel confident, families feel supported, and teams are fully aligned. This session is an opportunity to:
- Build stronger partnerships between schools and settings.
- Share practical solutions to common challenges during transitions.
- Take proactive steps to align transition practices across teams and settings.
Together, we can achieve strong partnerships for seamless transitions.

In addition to the transition networking between daycare providers and schools, there will be a small number of carefully selected exhibitors at the event.
