Course description

The ELKLAN Speech and Language Support for 3-5s course is designed for practitioners working with children aged 0-5 years. This externally accredited course is aimed at the early years workforce; staff in schools, academies, private, voluntary and independent settings and childminders.

What will I learn?

The course is designed to be delivered as a ten session programme with sufficient time between sessions to consolidate knowledge. The course uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage learners.

Delegates are required to complete a portfolio of evidence, which proves competence at either level 2 or 3. Participants choose the level at which they wish to study. Support to achieve this accreditation will be given by the course tutor. If you are interested in the Elklan accreditation, please express this upon application.

Level 2 or Level 3, nine credit award, in 'Knowledge and Practice to Support the Communication Skills of Under-Fives' is available (both levels are now on the QCF). The course fee currently includes accreditation costs.

The course will start on Wednesday 8th January 2020 and will run every Wednesday (excluding 12th and 19th February 2020) for 10 weeks.  The course will end on the 25th March 2020.
