An awareness of sensory processing difficulties in children, discussion around what challenges this might present and a range of possible strategies to help create sensory aware learning environments.

What will I learn?

The workshop is designed to provide participants with an overview and understanding of sensory processing difficulties. There will be discussion around the challenges this might present in your setting and how different ideas and activities can be applied to support settings working with children with sensory processing difficulties.

By the end of this workshop, you will have an awareness of:
• sensory processing difficulties and the challenges it can raise;
• strategies used to support pupils with sensory processing difficulties;
• strategies used to create sensory aware learning environments; and
• sources of support, websites and how to obtain resources.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at SENCos and practitioners working with children aged 0 – 3 years. It is suitable for Managers, EYFS Leads, SENCos, Room Leaders and all Early Years Practitioners.
