Supporting document on early years 2021 census
Further supportive guidance has been published to support the early years 2021 census.
The Department for Education (DfE) have published a document designed to supplement the Early years census 2021 guide to help support early years providers and local authorities make their early years census 2021 returns in a consistent and accurate way.
The early years census is intended to reflect the provision that is available for families to access, based on the provider's usual expected attendance in January, this year the week of the 18th January 2021.
Note: where a provider is counting a child on the census, the place must be genuinely available - This means a provider must not count a child where they have furloughed the staff who would be required to deliver the child's place.
