Bolton Start Well

Aided Language Stimulation is an alternative communication system, which can support children with severe communication difficulties. This workshop will give an overview of this system. It will offer examples of how and where ALS can be used within a childcare setting and provide details of how resources can be sourced and produced.

What will I learn?

This workshop will explain what Aided Language Stimulation is and how it can support children with severe communication difficulties. You will be able to trial a selection of Aided Language Display Boards and discuss the many ways in which they could be used in different settings to support communication.

By the end of the workshop, you will:

• Know how to use Aided Language Stimulation in your setting; and
• Know where to source resources to support communication in your setting.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at practitioners working with children aged 2-5 years and their families. It is suitable for Managers, EYFS Leads, SENCos, Room Leaders and all Early Years Practitioners.
