Course description?

This workshop will be a brief overview of strategies that support practitioners working with children in the early years to help them develop effective communication and language.

What will I learn?

The workshop is designed to develop participant’s knowledge of early communication and language development. It will explore the importance of effective adult-child interaction strategies and how to use them to support children’s communication development.

The course will equip participants with practical ideas for activities to develop listening and attention skills as well as provide an overview of information carrying words.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Have a refreshed knowledge of early communication and language development;
  • Understand the importance of effective adult-child interaction strategies and how to use them to support children’s communication development;
  • Have practical ideas to develop listening and attention skills; and
  • Have an overview of Information Carrying Words.

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is aimed at SENCos and practitioners working with children aged 2-5 years. It is suitable for Managers, Communication Champions, EYFS Leads, SENCos, Room Leaders and all Early Years Practitioners.

Commitments and Cancellations

All requests for cancellations must be sent in writing to: StartWellBookings@bolton.gov.uk. Charges will become effective on the date when written confirmation is received.

As low numbers can affect the viability of a course, we have to apply a charge if notice is not received in good time. The appropriate cancellation charge will apply based on the cost of your booking, as shown below:

29 calendar days or more No charge
Between 15 and 28 calendar days (inclusive) 50% of course fee
Between 1 and 14 calendar days (inclusive) Full course fee
Failure to attend Treated as late cancellation and full course fee will be charged

If for any reason we have to cancel or postpone a professional development session, we will notify all delegates booked onto the session as quickly as possible. A full refund will be given in the event of cancellation. Prices are valid until 31st August 2020.
