Welcome to the Start Well EYFS Training and Professional Development Service. Below is an overview of the Bolton Start Well Service funded briefings, professional development activities and our traded service offer.
The service has been established in response to:
- Increasing demand for services to schools and early years and childcare settings to focus on improving early communication and language outcomes for children. This includes providing comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for staff and providing a support and challenge role to schools and settings. This comes at a time of decreasing budgets and the need for a different approach to the way some early years services are delivered.
- The Greater Manchester Start Well Early Years Strategy seeks to deliver transformational system change. This means a long-term and sustainable shift from expensive and reactive public services, towards a new approach, which focuses on prevention and early intervention. This work is supported by a workforce development programme for the early years sector on the relevant pathways, assessment tools and interventions with the aim of increasing the number of children who are school ready.
The new Bolton Start Well Service builds on the existing partnerships we already have with providers. Operating on a not-for-profit basis, the focus is to achieve positive meaningful outcomes. Any surplus income is reinvested to maintain and improve the quality of our services and customer care.
The Start Well EYFS Training and Professional Development Service has been developed with the early years sectors’ needs in mind. So whether you are looking for consultancy, support and challenge, or training to enable your early years workforce to be skilled in teaching, monitoring and assessing children’s learning and development, look no further – we can help!
