Updates to the Ofsted inspection handbooks and guidance to Inspecting Safeguarding in the Early Years

Ofsted has made changes to the Early Year’s inspection handbook and the School inspection handbook, which will come into use from September 2019 with the new Education Inspection Framework.

Ofsted have also updated Guidance for ‘Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings’.

The guidance sets out the key points inspectors need to consider when inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings. It needs to be read alongside the Common Inspection Framework (CIF) and the Individual remit inspection handbooks, which can be found here.

Bolton Start Well will be running some workshops regarding the changes in the Early Year’s inspection handbook.
