This workshop is based around the Language through the Listening Resource Pack. This great resource delivers effective interventions that address poor listening and attention skills in children entering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This session underpins 'Letters and Sounds' (Phase 1).
What will I learn?
The workshop will focus on the use of the Language through Listening Resource Pack and delivers interventions focused on developing eye contact, turn taking and listening and attention skills. The workshop uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities and group discussion to engage learners.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- Have improved knowledge of attention and listening skills;
- Know how to improve children's eye contact, turn taking, listening and attention skills and how to develop early sound awareness;
- Be able to carry out an intervention group to support attention and listening skills; and
- Make effective use of the Early Years Pupil Premium and Pupil Premium Grant.
Delegates can purchase a copy of the Language through Listening CD resource. This comprehensive pack concentrates on the development of the pre-linguistic skills required to develop expressive language. A bespoke package of support is also available, including a follow-up visit to support implementation of the training. Please contact us for more details.
